My Memories of the Robot Wars Live Event in Birmingham 2nd August 2001 First of all, I wish to thank all the other wiki users for their research into the Robot Wars 2001 Live Event Tour as their findings have helped me to recall the majority of my memories from attending the Birmingham leg of the Series 5 Qualifiers. I went with my father to what I think must have been the evening event. I am guessing in hindsight there must have been events earlier on in the day as well as the day before because how else could Kan-Opener have fought as many as 5 robots during the entirety of the event as the team's archived website claims? I say this because I did see Kan-Opener fight at this event but only once, against Beast. My account of the battle is pretty much the same as is already documented on this wiki, except Kan-Opener was still stuck to 8645T by one of its claws when it pitted its opponent, in a similar situation to what would happen with Barbaric Response in Series 7.
